Ricky
This is about the commentry we have just done for our film's voiceover.
We had seven question that had to be mentoned in our voice over (evaluation).
First time round we mangage to include some of the question but it was not as strong as our film so we went over our voice over and we added the bits we left out so we can make it as strong as our film.
Finally the wait is over watch our film :)

Audience Feedback
hi James here posting the results of the audience feedback, therer were many positive points on the feedback sheet! YAY! everyone enjoyed the film and we recieved praise on our editing and the continuity, they also mentioned that we established who our auidence were very well.
we also recieved some constructive criticisms, the feedback said that our story line could have been more detailed and was slighlty unrealistic. the other big question was the name of the film would it be studenthood or youthanasia? everyone liked youthanasia better so it was a unanimous decision

New filming plan
Quick Post
After criticism...
here is the plan for the new film 'Youthanasia';
At the start, i.e. the title, this is where the music kicks in then the sound of James will be heard over it, the conversation between James and Ricky will drown out music.
The music then is heard as Lauren is following James - (there could bee another shot of lauren finding out how James and Ricky are meeting?)
Then drug scene between James and Ricky are silent and music is heard instead.
In the confrontation scene of Lauren and Ricky, there are going to be more close ups instead of the long shot we had in the rough cut. Also, a close up of Lauren hitting Ricky and his reaction shot.
There is a small mistake at the start of the fight scene with James and Ricky. We are going to film this again with Ricky talking and going to leave until James being seen after his shoulder.
Lauren's scenes (due to her acting skills) might have to be filmed again to put more emphasis on her. Another shot is taken of Lauren walking away and strong music is heard.
Cut to James' last scenes and is mostly music and the sound of sirens is heard at the end of the film.
The filming is scheduled to take place on Monday, with heavy criticism.
Editing and music on Tuesday

More changes to our film
Hi Ya'll!
Its us three again; giving you another update of our film - in a day we've made some drastic changes.
firstly, we've changed the name of project to... wait 4 it... YOUTHANASIA
It was decided that the original name 'Studenthood' was play on words to 'Kidulthood' and 'Adulthood' and therefore, wasn't very original.
So, with that we started to play on other words to do with teenagers and one particular 'youths' (not the best word, we know).
Then BADDA BING BADDA BOOM! Ricky came up with Youthanasia taken from Euthanasia, which for you not so clever ones; means ending a life in a painless manner and as James said, basically mercy killing.
And on that new little genius we made a start on the main title of our film.
Secondly, we had to export the film onto YouTube (yay!) so the world can see are oscar winning rough cut film.
We had a little bit of a problem with exporting the title - because it was LiveType with the rest of the film. The title was obviously important and getting the LiveType title onto the film meant we could make changes to the title without having to save it on LiveType and then import onto the film (because that's long).
Finally, we did it and went onto putting it on to YouTube.
Thirdly, we had to do a report card which James and Ricky will demonstrate on another blog..

Final Rough Cut & Filming
Hi, Lauren, Ricky and James here!
Haven't posted anything for a while but in that time we've finished our filming and rough cut.
In our filming, we had a little problems - but who hasn't. We filmed most of our film in one afternoon but after some 'camera problems' we had to do some parts again.
After finishing all that, we put it on Final Cut and the finishing time is 3 minutes and 33 seconds... not bad we must say!
Problems with our filming were mostly the fight scene were James had to hit Ricky as much as possible without looking so real.. But James did get some REAL punches and kicks in but Ricky took it like a man (the boys said so)
The next part was Lauren (she does admit to some seriously bad acting!) this was a little bit of a problem for us because we had to rehearse her lines over and over again just so she sounded like she did really care about Ricky who was lying by a vinegar smelling floor.
Some good parts were us working together as a team to create what we would called a brand new adulthood - it could be shown on the cinema and no one would know!! (or maybe it's just us being bigheaded).
And thus, we have created STUDENTHOOD
(we hope you like...)

James and Ricky here
Today we started filming we had many problems though! firstly Lauren was not here so we could not film the scenes involving her. Another problem was that the dialogue in our long shots could not be heard properly so we had to find a working mic.
In the end we had to use a radio mic because others could not pick up the sound. We managed to get half of a phone conversation filmed in long shot, mid shot, and close up shots. Unfortunately the other half of the converstaion involves Ricky standing outside and we could not take the radio mic, extension lead, etc outside due to the bad weather we've had recently so we will have to try again soon and hope for good weather.
Progress so far
Team
You have produced some great work here - very detailed shot lists - use some of them in your film
I have high hopes for your project

Filming Setup
HEY!
Lauren, James and Ricky here, we've just finished our storyboard based on the teen drama genre and the clever James thought of 'Studenthood' as the title (get it? Kidulthood, Adulthood? no?)
At first, we will admit that it wasn't as easy as we thought. However, it got easier and though there is a lack of logos and the opening title, the soundtrack is repetitive and catchy as well as some good drawings from Ricky himself.
Everyone enjoyed our storyboard so we've incorporated the storyboard so people can take a look and see for themselves...
Here is our basic list of the filming schedule and some props based on the storyboard;

Ricky
I done my storyboard on a teen drama called Mean Girls
Its about a girl who has moved from Africa and adapts to American high school and starts to find everything is completely different.
object width="480" height="295">
1. First shot is a close up of two characters one male one female looking down. possible by the dialogue it is a young kid starting school or a day at school. Only sound is characters talking. ( diegetic )
2. We then get a close up of the female which we assume is the mum . by the way she is speaking we assume by the sarcastic tone that it is the little child is starting school. More evidence for this is her facial expression. only sound is female talking. ( diegetic )
3. We go back to shot one but it elevates to show how the child get up(point of view shot) perhaps. sound heard is a faint soft music( non-diegetic ) character speaking ( diegetic )
4. We get a over the shoulder shot and for the first time the audience is introduced to the main character. This is where the humor of the movie is produced because she is about 16-17 years of age. sound heard is a faint soft music( non-diegetic ) also characters talking ( diegetic )
5. A long shot showing chemistry between the characters the mum cuddles the teen while father takes picture. we assume that it is a big day for the teen by the parents action. music still going ( non-diegetic ) and sound of clothes getting rubbed from the cuddle ( diegetic )
6. Medium shot of father taking pictures still for the big occasion. sound of the camera clicking ( diegetic ) music is still playing ( non-diegetic )
7. Close up of the mum and daughter basically point of view of the camera taking the picture.
8. Long shot showing house and some scenery by the size of the house we assume they are well off.
9. Close up of mum and daughter same has shot 6 but it shows mum reaction to daughter growing up.
10. A long shot of a different scene a spelling bee competition gives consumer a sense of confusion.

Narrative of opening of Clerks
http://www.mediaknowall.com/alevkeyconcepts/narrative.html
When we watched clerks we saw that the equilibrium of the narrative is that it is Dante day off. We assume he has been drinking and is hungover because he appears to have been sleeping in the closet. The disturbance is the phone ringing, this is a popular choice in films. The phone call is from his boss asking him to work, this means he could not play hockey.
We then see Dante opening up the shop and he is not happy about being there.

video clip
we watched the opening of kidulthood, this film is based around the same genre as our film, teen drama. it is set in a school where you see many factors of like as a teenager now. bullying, violence, and sex. although it does not cover drugs it is simmilar to ours. ours is set ina college instead of a school, but also deals with violence, particulary knife crime.
the scene is in a school,
STORYBOARD
1. the first shot we see is someone doing tricks with a football, all we see is their legs, we assume its a boy. we hear non diegetic noise in the firm of music, we also hear diegetic noise in the form of people talking in the background.
2. the first two characters we see are two schoolgirls, we assume because of the Broadwell and Thompson theory, which is that the the first person to walk through a door will be the most important. after watching the whole film we realise that this theory is correct about this film.
3. we then see an extreme close up of a drillpiece being inserted into a drill,
4. we are then shown the playground again and one of the girl characters on the phone. this is the first time we hear dialogue. the camera follows her then pans to another set of people this time mainly boys.
5. is a very short shot back to the person playing football
6. we then see a another close up this time a face behind the drill.
7. we then see another close up of the drill piece spinning showing that he is using the drill.
8. then next shot is back to the two Original girls and some more dialogue.
9.we are shown the boy that they are talking about on his Gameboy.
10. then back to them to continue the dialogue.
Research Production Meeting
We watched a program about film production on E stream. Then we decide James was to be the director, Ricky was the editor and Lauren was the producer. We decided on the logo for the production company and decided upon the name of Doggy Style Productions, the Doggy Style Productions logo would be a dog. We are still deciding on what the dog will look like..
it's either going to be a dog with a cap on backwards with a fag and some cards in his paws
or
some dog approaching another dog.. maybe even peeing on a lamp post to mark his territory.
we also watched many different openings to films suck as Natural Born Killers, This is England,
